Frank Hawley
Founder & Head Trainer
Frank Hawley is the data-obsessed architect behind Verro’s performance methodology. His mission is to make measurable, evidence-based training accessible to anyone serious about performance, from competitive athletes to everyday people chasing their potential.
What sets Frank apart is his belief that behind every number is a story and behind every metric, a person. His work at Verro is about connecting the two, building systems that not only optimize output but also deepen understanding of how the body moves, adapts, and thrives.
A University of Wisconsin–Madison graduate, Frank’s time as a research lab assistant in the food science department at Tufts University sharpened his ability to translate cutting-edge science into actionable training methodologies.
With a track record of consulting for fitness tech companies, he expertly applies biometric data and proven training principles to deliver reliable results for diverse clientele. What he saw in the fitness industry was a lack of measurable, evidence-based programming, so he set out to build a system that combined biometrics, velocity tracking, and individualized progression to reliably drive adaptation.
Frank has pioneered new ways to use RPE, calculating estimated 1RM, and advanced formatting of program design to create and track training systems that are as measurable as they are effective. By blending scientific rigor with hard-earned practical experience, he delivers data-driven, customized fitness programs designed to produce elite-level results.
Frank’s athletic background includes baseball, football, and wrestling, where he earned a spot at the Massachusetts State Championship Tournament, laying the foundation for the discipline and competitive drive that define his work today.
A former USAPL National Powerlifting Champion, Frank knows firsthand what it takes to reach the top. In pursuit of his championship title, Frank transformed his own body composition multiple times, gaining and losing over 170 pounds (from 185 to 245 and back down to 175) within 18 months. Living proof that discipline, data, and design can reshape human potential.
